Schola Science

For Authors

Schola Science supports authors throughout the publication process, from manuscript submission to final publication. This page provides general guidance for authors submitting work to journals published by Schola Science.

Each journal may have different requirements for scope, manuscript format, reference style, publication fees, and licensing. Authors should always read the instructions on the selected journal’s website before submitting.

Choose the right journal

Before preparing your submission, review the aims and scope of the journal carefully. Your manuscript should match the journal’s subject area and intended readership.

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Read the journal’s aims and scope.
  • Review recently published articles.
  • Check which types of manuscripts the journal accepts.
  • Follow the journal’s author guidelines and manuscript template.
  • Confirm the journal’s language and reference-style requirements.

Submitting to the right journal helps the editorial team assess the manuscript efficiently.

Prepare your manuscript

A manuscript should be complete, clearly written, and organized according to the selected journal’s guidelines. Unless stated otherwise by the journal, a research article will normally include:

  • Title
  • Author names and affiliations
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Research methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgements, when applicable
  • Funding information
  • Conflict-of-interest statement
  • References

Tables and figures should be numbered, titled, and referred to in the main text. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources.

Submission checklist

Before submitting, please confirm that:

  • The manuscript fits the journal’s aims and scope.
  • The work is original and has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not being considered by another journal.
  • All listed authors have approved the submitted version.
  • Author names, affiliations, and contact details are accurate.
  • The abstract and keywords clearly represent the study.
  • References are complete and consistently formatted.
  • Tables, figures, and supplementary files are readable.
  • Required ethical approval and participant consent have been obtained.
  • Funding sources and conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
  • Any identifying information has been removed when the journal uses anonymous peer review.

Incomplete submissions may be returned to the author for correction before editorial assessment.

Authorship and contributions

Authorship should be limited to individuals who made a meaningful contribution to the research and manuscript. Every listed author should approve the final manuscript and accept responsibility for their contribution.

Individuals who provided administrative, technical, language, or financial support without meeting the journal’s authorship requirements should be acknowledged rather than listed as authors.

Any change to the author list after submission must be explained and approved by all affected authors. The journal may request written confirmation before accepting the change.

Originality and research integrity

Authors must submit original work and cite all material taken from other sources. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, manipulated results, and inappropriate authorship are not acceptable.

A similarity report may be used during the initial screening process. The similarity percentage alone does not determine whether misconduct has occurred. Editors will consider the location, context, and source of any matching text.

Authors should retain their research data and supporting records. A journal may request these materials when they are needed to evaluate or verify the reported findings.

Research involving people or animals

Research involving human participants, personal data, clinical materials, or animals must follow applicable ethical and institutional requirements.

Where relevant, the manuscript should include:

  • The name of the approving ethics committee.
  • The approval or reference number.
  • A statement about informed consent.
  • An explanation of how participant privacy was protected.
  • The standards followed for animal care and research.

Authors should not include information that could identify a participant unless its publication is necessary and valid consent has been obtained.

Conflicts of interest and funding

Authors must disclose relationships or circumstances that could influence how the research is conducted, interpreted, or presented. This may include employment, consultancy, financial interests, institutional relationships, or personal connections.

All financial support should be identified, including the funder’s name and grant number when available. Authors should also explain whether the funder had any role in the study or publication decision.

Submit your manuscript

Manuscripts are submitted through the website of the selected journal, which may use Open Journal Systems or another submission platform.

The usual submission steps are:

  1. Select a journal from the Schola Science journal portfolio.
  2. Open the journal’s website.
  3. Read its Author Guidelines.
  4. Register or sign in to the submission system.
  5. Start a new submission.
  6. Upload the manuscript and supporting files.
  7. Enter the required article and author metadata.
  8. Review the submission before confirming it.

The corresponding author should use an active email address and monitor messages from the journal throughout the review process.

Peer review and editorial decisions

After the initial technical and editorial checks, suitable manuscripts may be sent for peer review. Reviewers assess the work and provide recommendations to the editor.

An editorial decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Reject and resubmit
  • Reject

Reviewer recommendations inform the decision, but the final decision remains with the journal’s authorized editor.

When revision is requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript together with a point-by-point response explaining how each comment was addressed. If a suggested change is not made, the author should provide a clear academic reason.

After acceptance

Accepted manuscripts may undergo copyediting, layout preparation, metadata checking, and author proofing. Authors should review the proof carefully and return corrections within the stated deadline.

Proofing is intended to correct production errors. Major changes to the research, authorship, or conclusions may require further editorial approval.

Publication fees, copyright terms, and licensing arrangements vary between journals. Authors should consult the selected journal’s website for the applicable policy before completing the submission.

Corrections after publication

Authors should contact the journal promptly if they discover an error in a published article. The editor will determine whether the record requires a correction, retraction, or another formal notice based on the nature of the issue.

Maintaining an accurate scholarly record is a shared responsibility of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
